About us
I was born in Johannesburg and grew up on a beautiful organic farm, where my parents owned and ran the much-loved Italian restaurant, Casalinga. From a young age, I was surrounded by food, hospitality, creativity and wonderful people — and my parents taught me the importance of making people feel welcome and creating beautiful experiences.
After school, I studied at Stellenbosch University, beginning with a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Entrepreneurship. I went on to study Marketing and completed an MBA in Finance at Bond University on Australia’s Gold Coast.
My love of food led me overseas, where I trained professionally as a chef and specialised in vegan and raw-food cuisine. At 23, I opened my own vegan restaurant, Leafy Greens Café, and later published two cookbooks and taught hundreds of cooking classes.
Entrepreneurship, hospitality, food and beautiful spaces have always been a huge part of who I am.
Today, I’m incredibly proud to be part of The Farmhouse Shoppe in Hoedspruit. Together with my wonderful partner, Sarah, we have created a shop filled with things we genuinely love — from our beautiful deli and ladies’ clothing boutique to gifts, homeware and special finds we carefully source.
We absolutely love what we do and feel so grateful to have created this little space for our community.

I was born in Zimbabwe and spent my school years between Johannesburg and the UK. My love of biology and creativity led me into Occupational Therapy, where I specialised in hand and upper-limb rehabilitation — a field I have loved for many years.
My career took me to Cape Town, where my two daughters were born and where I ran a successful hand rehabilitation practice. Inspired by the beauty and creativity of the Western Cape, I also started Ecru, a textile brand specialising in handwoven homeware. It became a wonderful creative outlet and deepened my love for beautiful, thoughtful spaces.
A move to the Lowveld brought an exciting new chapter — and it was here that I met my business partner, Antonia. We quickly discovered our shared love of food, interiors, entertaining and creativity, and The Farmhouse Shoppe was born.
Today, the Shoppe is our creative playground and second home — bringing together our deli, clothing studio and gifting spaces under one roof. It is a place for good food, beautiful finds, thoughtful gifts and, most importantly, bringing people together.
I still practise hand rehabilitation at our local hospital, while Antonia and I run the Shoppe side by side. Between patients, deliveries, new collections, deli orders and styling shelves, life is certainly busy — but we have an absolute ball doing it.
